Yash Soni from Madhya Pradesh has been selected as one of the national finalists for the 2026 Mr. India Universe competition. The national finale of the competition is scheduled to take place later this year. At the culmination of the event, the new Mr. India Universe winner will be chosen.
Yash Soni is an entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast and aspiring model from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where he was born, raised, and is currently based. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Chandigarh University and is actively involved in multiple entrepreneurial ventures, having co-founded a clothing brand while contributing to his family's pharmaceutical business and developing a new venture in the affordable nutrition sector. Fluent in Hindi and English, he has cultivated a diverse range of interests spanning fitness, business, music, and sports. A guitarist by passion, he has also actively participated in cricket, basketball, and table tennis, reflecting his commitment to an active and disciplined lifestyle. His achievements include leading his university's modelling team to a Top 4 finish at the Chandigarh University Modelling Fest, earning a Letter of Appreciation for his leadership, finishing as Runner-Up in an Instrumental Guitar Competition and a High School Cricket Tournament, and volunteering with the Rotary Club's Prosthetic Limbs Initiative, demonstrating his commitment to community service alongside his professional and personal pursuits.
Yash's journey has been defined by continuous self-transformation and the courage to embrace uncertainty. As a child, he struggled with being extremely underweight and lacking confidence despite possessing a naturally bold personality. The COVID-19 pandemic became a defining turning point, when limited resources encouraged him to begin training through bodyweight exercises, laying the foundation for a disciplined fitness journey that later evolved into a deep understanding of health, nutrition, and overall well-being. During this period, he also broadened his interests by taking up cricket, basketball, table tennis, and learning to play the guitar, discovering new avenues for self-expression and personal growth. After completing school, he prepared for the IELTS examination with the aspiration of pursuing higher education in Canada. Although those plans did not materialise, the process significantly enhanced his communication skills, confidence, and ability to express himself. While studying at Chandigarh University, he embraced another transformative opportunity by leading and coordinating a team of models for the university's Mega Fest. The experience introduced him to runway formations, costume coordination, stage presence, and the responsibilities of a showstopper, ultimately guiding the team to a Top 4 finish and strengthening his passion for the fashion industry.
In 2024, Yash made the difficult decision to leave a stable job to prepare full-time for the CAT examination. Although he narrowly missed securing admission to his dream management institute, the experience became one of the most valuable lessons of his life, teaching him resilience, acceptance, and the importance of adapting when circumstances change. Rather than viewing the setback as a failure, he channelled his energy into entrepreneurship by co-founding a clothing brand, gaining first-hand experience in building a business from the ground up. Simultaneously, his involvement in his family's pharmaceutical business deepened his understanding of finance, operations, decision-making, and the realities of running an enterprise. Today, he is working towards launching an affordable nutrition brand focused on providing clean, accessible nutritional snacks, with product development already underway. Looking beyond personal success, Yash aspires to use the platform of Mr. India Universe to promote health, nutrition, and overall well-being, particularly among underprivileged communities. He believes true success is measured not only by personal achievements but by the positive impact one creates in the lives of others. Through his journey, he hopes to inspire people to embrace self-transformation, remain resilient in the face of setbacks, and use their growth to contribute meaningfully towards building a healthier, happier, and more inclusive society.
Mr. India Universe is a national competition for men in India. It is organised by Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the Indian franchise holder of the globally renowned Miss Universe competition. The event is spearheaded by its founder and chairman, Nikhil Anand, and serves as a platform for aspiring male models and personalities from across the country. Following a nationwide audition process, some of India's most talented and promising contestants have been selected to compete in this year's national finale. Before the grand finale, the finalists will undergo an intensive series of grooming and training sessions designed to enhance their confidence, communication skills, personality and stage presence. The contestants will arrive at the finale venue, where they will participate in a schedule of official photoshoots, pre-finale activities, rehearsals and a range of preliminary events leading up to the grand finale. At the culmination of the competition, the reigning Mr. India Universe, Bishan Madappa from Karnataka, will ceremonially relinquish his title and award his successor.
