Vishal Khatri from Gujarat has been selected as one of the national finalists for the 2026 Mr. India Universe competition. The national finale of the competition is scheduled to take place later this year. At the culmination of the event, the new Mr. India Universe winner will be chosen.
Vishal Khatri is an aspiring model and entrepreneur from Gujarat. Born in Valia and raised in Deesa, Banaskantha, where he is currently based, he completed his higher secondary education and is actively involved in managing and growing his family's business. Possessing the knowledge of 3 languages Hindi, Gujarati, and English, he has developed a keen interest in photography, fitness, travelling, and calisthenics. Alongside his entrepreneurial responsibilities, he has remained committed to building a disciplined lifestyle, dedicating years to developing his physique and preparing for a career in modelling. With ambitions that extend beyond his hometown, he aspires to establish himself in the fashion industry while achieving entrepreneurial success and creating a life of financial independence and excellence.
Vishal's journey has been defined by responsibility, perseverance, and unwavering self-belief. A major turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic when unexpected family circumstances prevented him from continuing his education as planned. Instead of focusing solely on his own aspirations, he chose to stand beside his father during a difficult period, taking on the responsibility of supporting and helping grow the family business. While balancing long working hours, he refused to let go of his dream of becoming a model. Coming from a small town where very few people believed that modelling could become a serious career, he faced constant scepticism, limited support, and the challenge of pursuing an unconventional path. Despite working six to seven hours each day, he consistently pushed himself to train, maintain his physique, and stay committed to his goal for nearly eight years. Through determination and resilience, he gradually proved his capabilities, transforming self-doubt into confidence and discipline. Today, as he continues to pursue opportunities in the modelling industry, Vishal remains motivated by a desire to make his family proud, honour the sacrifices made during difficult times, and inspire young people from small towns to believe that dedication, consistency, and courage can turn even the most ambitious dreams into reality.
Mr. India Universe is a national competition for men in India. It is organised by Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the Indian franchise holder of the globally renowned Miss Universe competition. The event is spearheaded by its founder and chairman, Nikhil Anand, and serves as a platform for aspiring male models and personalities from across the country. Following a nationwide audition process, some of India's most talented and promising contestants have been selected to compete in this year's national finale. Before the grand finale, the finalists will undergo an intensive series of grooming and training sessions designed to enhance their confidence, communication skills, personality and stage presence. The contestants will arrive at the finale venue, where they will participate in a schedule of official photoshoots, pre-finale activities, rehearsals and a range of preliminary events leading up to the grand finale. At the culmination of the competition, the reigning Mr. India Universe, Bishan Madappa from Karnataka, will ceremonially relinquish his title and award his successor.
