Tanishq Gautam from Uttar Pradesh has been selected as one of the national finalists for the 2026 Mr. India Universe competition. The national finale of the competition is scheduled to take place later this year. At the culmination of the event, the new Mr. India Universe winner will be chosen.
Tanishq Gautam, professionally known as Tanishq, is an aspiring model, content creator and student. Born in Delhi, originally from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh and currently based in Ghaziabad, he recently completed his Class 12 education in the Commerce stream and is preparing to pursue higher studies with the long-term goal of building a career in law. During his schooling, he developed a strong academic foundation in Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics, fostering an interest in finance, management, and analytical thinking. Fluent in both Hindi and English, he combines his academic pursuits with a passion for fitness, music, influencing, and automobiles. He is also skilled at playing the guitar and has cultivated a disciplined lifestyle through regular gym training and physical fitness. His early exposure to the entertainment industry includes participating in the Young Actors in Making programme in 2015 and the JAAGO interactive musical workshop produced by Indian Idol, experiences that helped nurture his confidence, creativity and stage presence from a young age.
Tanishq's journey has been shaped by resilience and an unwavering determination to overcome adversity. In February 2025, he was involved in a serious accident that resulted in a severe head injury, significantly disrupting his fitness journey and everyday life. Later the same year, in October, he suffered a lower back injury that delayed his recovery for several months, the effects of which he continues to manage. Despite these physical setbacks, he remained committed to rebuilding his strength, maintaining a positive outlook, and continuing to pursue his ambitions. Rather than allowing these challenges to define him, he viewed them as opportunities to develop greater patience, mental resilience, and self-discipline. Today, while preparing for higher education, he is simultaneously working towards establishing himself as a successful model and influencer, driven by the belief that perseverance and consistency can overcome even the most difficult obstacles. Through his journey, he hopes to inspire others to remain focused on their goals, proving that true growth is not measured by the absence of challenges, but by the determination to keep moving forward despite them.
Mr. India Universe is a national competition for men in India. It is organised by Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the Indian franchise holder of the globally renowned Miss Universe competition. The event is spearheaded by its founder and chairman, Nikhil Anand, and serves as a platform for aspiring male models and personalities from across the country. Following a nationwide audition process, some of India's most talented and promising contestants have been selected to compete in this year's national finale. Before the grand finale, the finalists will undergo an intensive series of grooming and training sessions designed to enhance their confidence, communication skills, personality and stage presence. The contestants will arrive at the finale venue, where they will participate in a schedule of official photoshoots, pre-finale activities, rehearsals and a range of preliminary events leading up to the grand finale. At the culmination of the competition, the reigning Mr. India Universe, Bishan Madappa from Karnataka, will ceremonially relinquish his title and award his successor.
