Meet Dr. Varshini Murugan, the national finalist of Miss Universe India 2025

Dr. Varshini Murugan has been chosen as one of the national finalists for the biggest beauty pageant in the country – Miss Universe India 2025, scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. She appeared for the final auditions of the 2025 Miss Universe India competition held on June 15, 2025 at the Hotel Opulent by Ferns N Petals in New Delhi and made her way to the national finals.

Dr. Varshini Murugan is a 25-year-old medical practitioner, model and artist from Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, currently based in Bengaluru. Standing at 5 ft 6 inches, she is a graduate of Stanley Medical College, one of India’s top government medical institutions. Deeply inspired by her father, a dedicated paediatrician, Varshini carries forward a strong legacy of service through her advocacy initiative, 'அmeya,' which promotes awareness, early screening and treatment access for childhood cancer. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she finds expression through classical art, while also excelling in horse riding and rifle shooting. She has represented India at the Asia Youth International MUN, receiving global recognition for her voice in cervical cancer awareness. Awarded Youth Icon of the Year 2024 for her work in child health, Varshini also shines in the world of fashion and media, collaborating with leading brands and South Indian production houses. Her journey reflects grace, courage, and a commitment to creating meaningful change.

In the coming months, she will be seen walking down the stage at the 2025 Miss Universe competition. The competition is owned by one of the biggest beauty pageant organizations in the world – the Glamanand Entertainment Pvt Ltd (popularly known as the Glamanand Group). The organization was established by its founder and president, Nikhil Anand in the year 2013 and gradually it became one of the leading beauty pageant producers in the world. At the conclusion of this year’s Miss Universe India competition, the reigning titleholder, Rhea Singha from Gujarat will crown her successor, who would later go onto represent India at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition, scheduled to happen in the month of November in Thailand.
