Kaamaakshee Aathreya from Chennai was crowned Miss Universe Tamil Nadu 2025 at the state finals of the competition held on May 15, 2025 at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Chennai. She was crowned the outgoing titleholder, Lakshita Thilagraj and Miss Universe India 2024, Rhea Singha. Kaamaakshee will now represent the state of Tamil Nadu at the upcoming edition of Miss Universe India competition, scheduled to take place in the coming months.
Kaamaakshee Aathreya is a passionate law student, artist and youth advocate. Currently pursuing her B.A., LL.B (Hons.), she holds a strong academic record with a CGPA of 9.83 and was a school topper in Political Science. From a young age, Kaamaakshee has been drawn to the stage - as a gold medallist in hip hop and street dance at the IDO Korea Dance Competition, a theatre performer and a seasoned public speaker. She is a Guinness and Asia Book of Records holder for organizing the largest child safety workshop, showcasing her deep commitment to social impact. As the founder of FIERCE., she leads a movement that inspires women to live boldly and without fear. Her achievements also include being crowned Little Miss World in Greece at the age of 12 and Little Miss Earth in Singapore at 13.An active Model United Nations participant and chairperson, Kaamaakshee has earned multiple Best Delegate awards. Beyond academics and advocacy, she is an automobile enthusiast and an avid follower of Formula 1. She lives by the motto, “Your only competition is yourself,” reflecting her belief in personal excellence and inner growth.
In the coming months, she will be seen walking down the stage at the 2025 Miss Universe India contest, representing the state of Tamil Nadu. The competition is owned by one of the biggest beauty pageant organizations in the world – the Glamanand Entertainment Pvt Ltd (popularly known as the Glamanand Group). The organization was established by its founder and president, Nikhil Anand in the year 2013 and gradually it became one of the leading beauty pageant producers in the world. At the conclusion of this year’s Miss Universe India competition, the reigning titleholder, Rhea Singha from Gujarat will crown her successor, who would later go onto represent India at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition, scheduled to happen in the month of November in Thailand.
