Jackielynn Pradhan from Gangtok was crowned Miss Universe Sikkim 2025 at the state finals of the competition held on May 18, 2025 at the Lemon Tree Hotel in Gangtok. She created history by being the first transwoman to win the title. She will now represent the state of Sikkim at the upcoming edition of Miss Universe India competition, scheduled to take place in the coming months.
Jackielynn Pradhan is a 21-year-old model and self-taught ballerina from the serene hills of Sikkim. Born in Gangtok and raised in Jorethang, she embraces the rich cultural heritage of her homeland with pride. Standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, Jackielynn is passionate about dance, fashion and creative expression. She curates stylish looks and sees beauty as a form of art and empowerment. Her journey is a testament of courage, resilience and breaking barriers. Despite facing bullying and social rejection in her early years, Jackielynn stood strong with the support of her parents and her own determination. Today, she continues to rise, not just for herself but for everyone who has ever been told they don’t belong. Her advocacy centres on mental health awareness - a cause deeply close to her heart. She aims to break the silence around mental illness and open up safe conversations, especially in regions where stigma still runs deep. Through her voice and platform, Jackielynn hopes to remind people that they are never alone and that every life matters.
In the coming months, she will be seen walking down the stage at the 2025 Miss Universe India contest, representing the state of Sikkim. The competition is owned by one of the biggest beauty pageant organizations in the world – the Glamanand Entertainment Pvt Ltd (popularly known as the Glamanand Group). The organization was established by its founder and president, Nikhil Anand in the year 2013 and gradually it became one of the leading beauty pageant producers in the world. At the conclusion of this year’s Miss Universe India competition, the reigning titleholder, Rhea Singha from Gujarat will crown her successor, who would later go onto represent India at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition, scheduled to happen in the month of November in Thailand.
