Dr Ahina Datta was crowned Miss Universe Tripura 2026 on the glitzy evening of June 19, 2026. Alongside winning that glittering crown, she also earned the rights to represent the state of Tripura, at the most prestigious beauty pageant in the country – Miss Universe India, to take place on August 18, 2026 in Jaipur.

Dr Ahina Datta is a doctor and model who hails from Agartala, Tripura, and is currently based in Delhi. She holds an MBBS degree and has pursued a career in medicine alongside her interest in modelling. Fluent in Hindi, Bengali and English, she is also passionate about singing and painting, two creative pursuits that have remained an important part of her life.
Ahina’s journey has been shaped by both personal challenges and achievements. Two years ago, she survived secondary haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a serious medical condition that also resulted in the loss of nearly 90 per cent of her hair. Her experience stands as a significant chapter in her life, one that has shaped her journey beyond her professional pursuits. Her academic and personal milestones hold special meaning for her, particularly the day she earned the distinction of placing the prefix ‘Dr’ before her name, a moment she considers one of the most memorable of her life.
Her creative side became evident during her childhood, when she won prizes at the national level for her paintings. Her interests in art, medicine and modelling reflect different aspects of her personality, bringing together scientific knowledge, creativity and self-expression.
In 2026, Ahina added another significant milestone to her journey by winning the title of Miss Universe Tripura 2026. The achievement marked her entry into the national finals of Miss Universe India 2026, giving her an opportunity to represent Tripura on a larger platform. For Ahina, the title was not simply a recognition of her presence in the pageant world but also an opportunity to share her journey and embrace new possibilities while continuing to build her identity as a doctor and model.

The competition – Miss Universe India, is owned by one of the biggest beauty pageant organizations in the world – the Glamanand Entertainment Pvt Ltd (popularly known as the Glamanand Group). The organization was established by its founder and president, Nikhil Anand in the year 2013 and gradually it became one of the leading beauty pageant producers in the world. At the conclusion of this year’s Miss Universe India competition, the reigning titleholder, Manika Vishwakarma from Rajasthan will crown her successor, who would later go onto represent India at the prestigious Miss Universe 2026 competition, scheduled to happen by end of this year in Puerto Rico.
