Crowned in Grace: Aiswarya Sreenivasan crowned Miss Universe Kerala 2025

Aiswarya Sreenivasan from Kannur was crowned Miss Universe Kerala 2025 at the state finals of the competition held on April 27, 2025, in Cochin. She was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Aqsa Varghese. At the same event, Cameroon Joseph and Lekha Nair were crowned first and second runners-up, respectively. Aiswarya will now represent the state of Kerala at the upcoming edition of the Miss Universe India competition, scheduled to take place in the coming months.

Born in Payyanur, she holds an honors degree in agricultural science and a diploma in movement arts and is a model, actor, and content creator by profession. She comes from an army background. Her father joined the Indian Army at a young age and served the nation for 39 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Her mother, a nurse, was the first working woman in their family. In 2019, she entered her first pageant. Coming from a conservative community where women are often expected to follow traditional paths, stepping onto a stage was a bold move for her. She is also a talented artist, winning the Aurav Award for Painting in 2014. A national-level Kho-Kho player, she has always been drawn to diverse forms of expression and movement. In 2024, she received a scholarship to pursue a diploma in Movement Arts at Attakkalari, Bangalore. Alongside that, she has been extensively working as a social media influencer and actress. So far, she has worked with over 50 top brands and recently appeared in her first ad film.

Her journey has not only been about breaking barriers for herself but also about uplifting others. Having witnessed the strength of women in her own family, she feels a deep connection to the struggles and potential of rural women. She believes that true empowerment begins with opportunity—especially for those in underserved communities. With this vision, she has been actively involved in promoting sustainable farming practices and skill development initiatives for women in rural areas. Her goal is to help them become self-sufficient, confident, and financially independent. By focusing on education, training, and sustainable livelihoods, she hopes to create lasting change.

In the coming months, she will be seen walking down the stage at the 2025 Miss Universe India contest, representing the state of Kerala. The competition is owned by one of the biggest beauty pageant organizations in the world—Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (popularly known as the Glamanand Group). The organization was established by its founder and president, Nikhil Anand, in the year 2013, and gradually it became one of the leading beauty pageant producers in the world. At the conclusion of this year’s Miss Universe India competition, the reigning titleholder, Rhea Singha from Gujarat, will crown her successor, who will later go on to represent India at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 competition, scheduled to happen in the month of November in Thailand.
