Bihar's Kriti Chandan crowned 2nd Runner-Up at Mrs. India 2026

Kriti Chandan, a Chartered Accountant, entrepreneur and proud daughter of Darbhanga, Bihar, brought pride to Bihar and Nepal by securing the 2nd Runner-Up title at Mrs. India 2026. She was crowned by Moira Lewis at the grand finale in Jaipur, organised by the Glamanand Group, the parent organisation behind the competition.

Kriti further distinguished herself by winning three prestigious sub-titles — Beauty with a Purpose, Best National Costume and Best Talent — establishing her as one of the standout contestants of the competition.

For the National Costume round, Kriti brought the rich cultural heritage of Mithila to the pageant stage through a hand-painted Madhubani saree from her own brand. Inspired by the sacred festival of Chhath Puja, the ensemble celebrated India's cultural traditions while highlighting the craftsmanship of rural women artisans.

Beyond the pageant, Kriti is committed to empowering women through Madhubani art by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural artisans. Her journey as a Chartered Accountant, mother and entrepreneur reflects her belief that professional ambitions and family responsibilities can grow together.

Kriti dedicates her achievement to the cherished memory of her late father, Kulendra Narayan Jha, whose values continue to guide her, and to her mother, whose vision of women's empowerment inspires her mission. She also credits her husband and family for their unwavering love and support.

Her journey is a celebration of resilience, purpose and the limitless potential of women who dare to dream.
